Raila wants DP Rutos 2,500-acre Taita Taveta land surrendered to govt
The Coastal land politics took centre stage
during Azimio la Umoja One Kenya coalition party leader Raila Odinga’s tour of
Taita Taveta County on Tuesday, where he addressed rallies in Wundanyi, Mwatate
and Voi constituencies.
Odinga claimed acquisition of the over 2,500
acres of land in Taita Taveta’s Mata farm by Deputy President William Ruto was
questionable and should be surrendered.
Posed Odinga.
Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho sai: “Mimi ndio
Azimio Secretary General Junet Mohamed, on
atachukua.”
Odinga’s running mate Martha Karua said he has
stood for justice for all and called on the voters of Taita Taveta to vote him
as the country’s fifth president.
“Ukiangalia ile timu ingine, wale wapinzani
wetu, utaona hawana historia ya kujitolea…hakuna kazi wamefanya wewe ukakula
matunda…wanaitisha kazi bila cheti za ile kazi wanaomba,” she said.
The Azimio leaders deconstructed the
wheelbarrow politics associated with DP Ruto and his
Kenya Kwanza brigade.
Wiper party chief Kalonzo Musyoka said: “We
want to move from the boda boda economics…we don’t want to hear of wheelbarrow
economics, hiyo ni nonsense…we must have the reality for our people.”
“This is not an ordinary election tukikosa
hesabu wakati huu, nchi hii itaharibika kabisa. We cannot afford to give the
country to thieves.”
