Meru residents mark Easter with pomp and colour
The Easter holiday was celebrated with pomp and colour at the Meru Technical College during the Ameru Festival.
The function which was graced by local leaders led by Meru County Governor Peter Munya attracted huge crowds, especially the youth, who traveled from far to celebrate the Easter Holiday.
The organisers had estimated an attendance of 5,000 people but were amazed by the huge turn up of over 7,000 people.
The festive brought the busy town to a stand still as thousands flocked the venue where they were entertained by local artists including Nameless, Willy Paul, Bamboo, Jaguar and the FBI dancers who rocked the stage.
Local and national comedians including MC Jessy, Shiks Kapyenga, Nasizu, Kajairo, Nick Mutuma and Otos also entertained the revellers.
Ladies were given an opportunity to demonstrate their talent on the runway as they showcased their creative artistic outfits.
It was also a platform for upcoming artists and comedians to share their talents with the audience.
Governor Munya thanked the organisers event for what he termed as mentoring the youth and upcoming artists and comedians in the county.
