RMS awarded for promoting road safety in the country

Royal Media Services was on Friday night recognized as one of the top community promoters of road safety in Kenya.

This honour was awarded during the AA Kenya Road Safety Excellence Awards held in Nairobi — an event that celebrates individuals, organisations, and institutions going above and beyond to improve road safety.

The ceremony brought together leaders from both the public and private sectors, all united by the goal of making Kenyan roads safer for everyone.

Several national figures in road safety advocacy and implementation were honoured.

Speaking at the event, the principal secretary for the State Department of Sports urged Kenyans to adopt best safety practices.

The managing director of the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) announced plans to reintroduce Alco blow tests and highway cameras to help curb reckless driving and save lives on Kenyan roads.

"Why the awards for road safety? Over the years we have collected a lot of data on roads and we discovered that there is so much that is happening, and we wanted to recognize this. More importantly, to learn from each other, we needed to know what we are doing in our various corporations,” AA Kenya Managing Director Francis Theuri added.
