Rowdy Eldoret youth attack AP officers during alcohol raid

An alcohol raid turned chaotic when a group of rowdy youth attacked Administration Police (AP) officers at Maili Nne, Eldoret town.

It is alleged that the area chief was responsible for the incitement.

The youth started throwing stones and one police officer was injured in the process.

Speaking to Citizen Digital, the Uasin Gishu County Director of Alcohol and Licensing Board Armstrong Rono has said that it is a shame to see a chief inciting youth.

Rono stated that the culprits were arrested along with 20 drunkards and they will be taken to court on Monday.

This raid comes as the government champions a crackdown on illicit liquor following a directive by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
