President
William Ruto on Sunday said he is happy to be Kenya’s leader at a time when the
country is grappling with several economic challenges and a skyrocketing cost
of living.
Ruto
told the faithful during a church service in Dagoretti, Nairobi that hard times
call for a president like him to steer the country into growth.
“I
am very happy that I am the one leading Kenya during these difficult times. Such
times need a person like me to lead the country,” the president said.
If
Kenya had other people at the helm of the government during these challenging
times, Ruto said without naming names, it “would have sunk.”
“If
we had others (leaders), Kenya would have sunk, but I assure you that Kenya will
move forward and change. We will have a country we are all proud of,” he said,
urging the congregation to continue praying for the country.
