Safaricom services down countrywide

Millions of Kenyans have been thrown into communication disarray after Safaricom experienced massive technical difficulties that have affected voice, data, SMS and M-Pesa services from as early as 8am.

In statement, Safaricom which has 28 million subscribers has acknowledged the massive glitch saying a technical team had been deployed to restore services.

This comes as political parties are conducting party primaries today, relying on network coverage to relay results as well as coordinate operations.

Last year, the giant telecom introduced a refund scheme where it pays its subscribers for dropped calls as a result of a faulty network.
