Senate Majority Leader Cheruiyot issues notice to bars near learning institutions

Kericho Senator says the bar owners have abused the proximity within learning  institutions to wreck lives of gullible students by selling illicit alcohol and drugs . 

Cheruiyot has called on the leaders to collaborate to stem the tide of rampant alcoholism and substance and drug abuse affecting families and  livelihoods. 

In his war against what he calls notorious illicit alcohol and narcotics, Cheruiyot warned that those that violated the laws by encroaching on schools reseves to sell alcohol will be ruthlessly dealt with . 

“ We cannot negotiate with what’s in the law . It is explicitly clear that you cannot establish liquor store within 300 meters from schools . Please demolish your structure before we come for you . We cannot allow you to destroy the lives of our children. Those bars do not only sell alcohol but they sell other hard drugs . We are telling them to go destroy their children first before they come for our own “ cautioned Cheruiyot. 

Last year Children waged a vicious war with what he termed as alcohol and drug cartels and accused authorities for aiding and abetting the vice with their non committal approach.
