Nominated Senator Gloria Orwoba is today (Friday) expected to appear before the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) disciplinary committee for allegedly engaging in actions perceived to be in breach the party's Code of Conduct.

In a statement signed by the committee’s chairperson, Charles Njenga, UDA outlined three specific instances of Orwoba’s alleged misconduct. These include her participation in the welcoming of former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, as well as his homecoming ceremony at Gusii Stadium.

The party also expressed concern over her interview with Spice FM on April 22, 2025, where she criticized the Labour Mobility Program—a key initiative in President William Ruto’s administration.

The statement read in part: “Your participation in these events and the utterances made therein provide clear evidence of allegiance to another political movement, actions deemed unbecoming, and disloyalty to the United Democratic Alliance Party (the party) that nominated you to the position of Senator in the Senate of the Republic of Kenya.”

UDA summoned Senator Orwoba to explain her actions and to justify why disciplinary measures should not be taken against her. She is expected to appear before the committee today, Friday, May 16, at 9:00 AM at the Hustler Plaza, Fourth Floor Board Room.

The statement also clarified: "If the committee finds you liable, it will immediately forward its decision to the National Executive Committee of the party for further action, including the implementation and execution of such measures."
