Shakahola cult: 10 more bodies exhumed as death toll rises to 284

Ten more bodies have been exhumed from the Shakahola forest in Kilifi County where a search and rescue operation for victims of a suspected starvation cult is ongoing.
According to a police report issued on Monday, the death toll now stands at 284.
DNA samplings conducted so far are 93 out of which 19 victims have been linked to their families.
As investigations into the massacre continues, the number of suspects arrested in connection with the cult are 35 with the main suspect being self-proclaimed pastor Paul Mackenzie.
As the search continues, the number of persons reported missing and are suspected to have fallen victim to the cult are 613.
