Shaquille Obienge: Calls for justice as youth shot by police in Ketengela is laid to rest

Obienge was buried at his home in Obede village, Kisumu County, with the family still clinging on to hope that they will find justice.
His parents, siblings and friends described Obienge as a hard-working and charismatic fellow and that the police bullet that fell him took away their joy.
His father, George Obienge says his son was full of life days before he met his death during the protests of July 16, 2024.
Obienge castigated the police for lying that his son was an accident victim yet he was shot by the police.
The deceased's mother Millicent Achieng was moved to tears as she narrated her last days with her son adding that the police bullet took away someone special to him.
Hussein Khalid, the Executive Director of Haki Africa said the government through relevant agencies must ensure all victims of police shootings get justice and that officers who were responsible are brought to book.
