Shock as man attacks estranged wife with machete, rungu and bites her ears in Makueni

Police in Kitaingo, Kilome, Makueni County, have launched a manhunt for a suspect accused of brutally assaulting his estranged wife in a shocking case of domestic violence.

The victim, Naomi Ndanu, is currently receiving treatment at Sultan Hamud Sub-County Hospital after suffering multiple deep machete cuts to the head, blunt force trauma from a rungu, and bite wounds to her ears.

According to Ndanu, she had received a call from her former husband, who asked her to come and collect her belongings.

Upon arrival, the man reportedly locked the door before turning violent, attacking her with a machete and beating her helplessly.

Local sources say cases of domestic violence are on the rise in the area.

In a separate but equally disturbing incident, another woman from the same locality is undergoing treatment at Makueni Referral Hospital after her ex-husband attacked her.

The man is also accused of killing her father, who had reportedly rushed in to try and rescue her.

Authorities have confirmed both incidents and are appealing to the public for information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects.
