Shollei To Be Compensated Over Unlawful Dismissal

Industrial court judge justice Nduma Nderi says the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) violated Shollei’s constitutional right by unlawfully removing her from office.

Shollei was removed her from office on allegations of gross misconduct and misappropriation of more than 2 billion shillings.

However, Shollei may not be reinstated as chief registrar since her position was officially taken over by 48 year old Anne Atieno Amadi.

The industrial court had in November last year rejected Shollei’s application to be reinstated, rendering the office vacant for close to 3 months before Amadi took over.

The court is yet to determine the amount Shollei will be compensated.
