Two siblings were killed
on Thursday night after a fire erupted in Nairobi's Umoja III area.
Reports indicate that
the minors had been left alone in their house by their mother prior to the
incident, which authorities suspect was started by a candle that was illuminating
the house.
According to police, the inferno spread to adjacent houses, destroying over 20 structures and leaving nearly 30 families homeless.
The fire was extinguished thanks to the combined efforts of the Nairobi Fire Brigade and local residents.
The bodies of the minors have been moved to a
local mortuary for storage as investigations into the incident continue.
