Sister Nyaatha Declared a Blessed

Cardinal Polycarp Pengo delivered the letter declaring Sister Stefani among the Blessed.

The proclamation was read in Latin by Cardinal Pengo and later translated to English by Cardinal John Njue.

The Catholic Church will every year celebrate blessed Irene Stefani's feast on 31st October the day she died and is believed to have been born into heaven.

This is the first beatification ceremony to happen in Kenya and Africa.

Blessed Sister Irene Stefani Nyaatha was 39 when she died in 1930.
