Six people killed in Isiolo bandit attack

Six people were killed on Saturday in an attack by raiders against Turkana herders at Buffalo Springs game reserve in Isiolo County.

According to Isiolo County Commissioner Herman Shambi, attackers from the Samburu side tried to steal livestock from Turkana herders who resisted, and a gun battle ensued.

Five attackers from the Samburu side and one Turkana herder were killed during the shootout.

Shambi asked the various pastoralist communities in Isiolo County to respect each other’s grazing zones to avert further flare ups.
