Students charged with arson

Three students of Kavutiri Boys Secondary School in Embu County were on Tuesday arraigned in court and charged with attempted arson.

However, the form three students, Oscar Mutua Nyaga, 16, Jacob Kariuki Njau, 17, and Clarence Mungendi, 15, denied the charges.

It is alleged the three were nabbed with two litres of petrol and other items at Kavutiri Boys Secondary School on July 13th together with others not before the court.

Chief Magistrate Samuel Mucheru ordered the three be escorted to Embu Level 5 Hospital to assess their real ages.

The case will be heard on July 16th, 2015 when their bond terms will also be determined.
