Suspect in David Mwangi murder case to remain in custody for two weeks

A Nakuru court has allowed an application to continue holding a suspect in the David Mwangi murder case.

The court obliged to the plea by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) and ordered that Elvis Musonya Karambe be held for two more weeks.

The suspect, an employee at Wachira’s Biscepts Company in Industrial Area,  was arrested on Monday and spent the night at Railways Police Station.

He was allegedly at work on August 17, 2019, the night that Wachira was murdered.

In her ruling, Chief Magistrate Elizabeth Osui said the DCI sought more time to process MPesa statements related to the case.

The deceased was buried last Saturday at his Olive Inn home in Rongai.

During the burial, Nakuru West Deputy County Commissioner Elmi Shaffi revealed that police had recorded statements from various people in relation to the murder.

The case will be heard on September 10, 2019.
