Suspect in Kisumu phone theft syndicate arrested

Kisumu police arrested one suspect on Sunday in connection with a phone theft syndicate in the city.
Jenipher Emal, 30, was arrested at a residential house in the Obunga area, where a laptop and 49 mobile phones were recovered.
Kisumu Central OCPD Peter Mulai confirmed the incident over the phone, saying the woman was arrested after a public tip.
The arrest comes one month after the Kisumu county commissioner launched a security operation to flush out criminal gangs that have been wreaking havoc in the lake side city.
The suspect will be presented in court on Monday.
