Suspected drug trafficker arrested as heroin, Ksh.1.7M cash seized in Mombasa

Police in Mombasa on Saturday morning arrested a
suspected drug trafficker and confiscated 169.18 grams of heroin worth an
estimated street value of Ksh.507,540.
The suspect, Mwinyi Seif Salim, was nabbed during
the dawn operation conducted at his home in Kisauni, where a stash of cash in
both Kenyan Shillings and US Dollars said to be proceeds of crime was also seized.
The cash recovered was Ksh.1,327,300 and USD 3,610 (Ksh.469,300), totalling
Ksh.1,796,600. Four mobile phones were also recovered.
According to the police,
Salim is a notorious drug trafficker within the Coast region who conducts his
operations within Magodoroni and Arusini areas of Kisauni Constituency.
“Mwinyi has mastered the art and even used school going
girls among his relatives to do the distribution. His two wives who were
custodians of the drugs were also previously arrested in possession of hard drugs
and have ongoing court cases,” read sections of the police report.
