Terror suspects gunned down in Kisauni, explosives recovered

Two suspected terror suspects have been gunned down in Kisauni, Mombasa.

According to Coast Regional Coordinator Nelson Marwa, three grenades and several explosive materials were recovered during the operation.

Police are currently pursuing the third suspect who managed to escape.

According to the police, the two were killed following a raid carried out at Junda area of Kisauni in Mombasa County.

During the raid, the suspects opened fire but police managed to overpower them, gunning two of them down; Salim Hanjary Benzimba and Kibwana Ahmed Abdallah Alias Rajab, however one suspect managed to escape.

The escapee is suspected to be Ishamail Shoshi a fugitive that is on the police wanted list for terror activities.

In the raid police also recovered explosive material they suspect was being used to make Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) and three Grenades.

Police are now appealing to members of the public to be vigilant and report any suspicious person in their area.
