Jackson Reriani Gachagua, the brother of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, will be laid to rest on Tuesday at the family's Hiriga home in Nyeri.

The late Reriani was the only surviving brother to Gachagua after the passing of the former Nyeri Governor Nderitu Gachagua back in 2017, and that of James Reriani Gachagua in May 2022.

While his brother, the second-in-command, is well-known, little is known about the late Jackson Reriani, a well-read mechanical engineer who began his career as a sales manager before dabbling in private businesses.

Jackson Reriani Gachagua was born in 1952 in Hiriga Village, Mathira West Sub-County.

He attended Ruare Primary School before enrolling in Kabete Technical School to pursue a technical education.

Reriani, a math and science enthusiast, attended the Kenya Polytechnic and earned a higher diploma in Mechanical Engineering before moving to London to pursue a degree in mechanical engineering.

According to an excerpt from his eulogy, Mr. Reriani was the best in his class from commonwealth countries.

Mr. Reriani began his career as a sales manager at Metal Box Kenya in Thika before moving on to Gailey and Roberts in Narobi as the technical manager.

Following that, he dabbled in private business, establishing Technical Supplies and Services, which installed irrigation systems in Kajiado, Narok, and Kiambu.

He also worked in Marge Enterprises, Triple Eight Construction Companies, and other businesses with his brothers.

Reriani is survived by his wife Cecilia Wambui and four children, Joan Kirigo, Stephen Gachagua, Kevin Kimani, and Emma Alice Njeri.
