Three arrested in possession of bhang worth over Ksh.120K in Kirinyaga

Three people, among them a 67-year-old man,
have been arrested in possession of
several rolls and stones of bhang worth over Ksh.120,000
Confirming the arrest, Gichugu sub-county
Police Commander Anthony Mbogo said James Mwaniki, 67, was cornered in his
house with 20 kilograms of bhang.
The other two suspects; Alexander Muriuki (28),
and Peter Muchiri (35), were each arrested with 19 rolls of bhang.
Mbogo said the three suspects were nabbed
following a tip off by members of the public that they had been selling and
distributing bhang in Gichugu sub-county.
The police boss said the three will be arraigned
before the Gichugu Law Courts, further warning that a crackdown will continue
on drug peddlers in the area.
