Three dead, 11 injured in grisly crash

Three people died on the spot while 11 others were seriously injured after the car they were traveling in was involved in a traffic accident at Funan Nyata in Moyale.

Confirming the accident, area police commander Ben Kogo said the incident was caused by a tyre burst, after which the driver of the 14-seater matatu lost control.

The matatu was on its way from Bori to Moyale.

At the same time, Kogo noted that since the construction of the road began there has been a rise in the number of accidents reported in Marsabit County, further urging drivers plying the route to exercise extra caution, with the road having claimed at least five lives in the last three days.
