Three people, among them two staffers and a client, are receiving treatment at various hospitals after a fire broke out at Stem Hotel in Nakuru on Wednesday afternoon.

Police reports indicate that a gas cylinder in the kitchen section exploded leading to the fire that has left the three with burns.

Firefighters from the Nakuru County government and those from the Kenya Pipeline rushed to the scene and contained the fire that was spreading fast to other areas.

However, property of unknown value is said to have already been destroyed by then.

Nakuru Police Commander Beatrice Kiraguri confirmed that the trio is receiving treatment and is currently in a stable condition.

Nakuru Disaster Management Chief Officer Anne Njenga on her part called for extra measures to be put in place to ensure safety.
