Three people were on Saturday injured when supporters of two Homa Bay County gubernatorial candidates clashed during their final parallel rallies ahead of the next week's polls.

Supporters of ODM candidate Gladys Wanga and her independent counterpart Dr Evans Kidero clashed before the two candidates arrived for the rallies.

This as Kidero held his final rally at Juakali grounds within Homa Bay Town while Wanga held hers at the Homa Bay Stadium.

During the fracas, three people sustained serious injuries while several vehicles were pelted with stones.

Homa Bay County Commissioner Moses Lilan confirmed that one of the three people who were injured is presently admitted at the hospital.

Mr. Lilan says they are still investigating the incident to ensure all culprits are brought to book.

Dr. Kidero and his allies condemned the violence, blaming security officers for what he termed as leaning towards the side of his competitor.

On the other hand, Wanga also condemned the violence as she pleaded with the security officers to arrest the culprits behind the fracas.
