Three people killed, 3 others injured after lorry overturns in Bungoma

Three people were on Wednesday killed and three others left nursing serious injuries following an accident at Mukhuyu area on the Kapsokwony-Chwele road in Bungoma County.

The six people were on board a lorry said to have been transporting cabbages and potatoes before the driver lost control and veered off the road.

According to witness accounts, the lorry rolled over killing three instantly, while the other three were rushed to a Bungoma hospital where they are presently undergoing treatment.

While advising road users to be alert, area residents called on the government to install bumps to limit the speeding of motorists and boda boda riders.

They further called for the barring of lorries from ferrying passengers as they are not Public Service Vehicles (PSVs).
