Three people killed, three injured as miraa car collides with motorbike in Kirinyaga

Three people were killed and three others seriously injured after a car ferrying miraa collided with a boda boda at Makutano area in Mwea, Kirinyaga County, on Sunday.

The mid-morning accident took place along the Mwea-Embu highway.

According to witnesses, two cars, both ferrying miraa, were speeding alongside each other heading toward Makutano from Ngurubani.

One collided head-on with the oncoming motorbike, whose rider was overtaking a tuk-tuk.

The motorbike rider and the driver of one of the cars died on the spot.

A pillion passenger who suffered head injuries later died in the afternoon while receiving treatment.
