Three suspects have been arrested after being found in possession of elephant tusks in Kerugoya township, Kirinyaga County.
According to the National Police Service (NPS), the trio was apprehended on Sunday following a joint operation with officers from the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS).
NPS reiterated that wildlife crimes are serious offences that threaten the survival of endangered species and compromise Kenya’s conservation legacy, noting that anyone compromising the safety of wildlife will be brought to book.
They will now remain in custody awaiting arraignment in court.
