TNA Holds Key Parliamentary Group Meeting

At least 53 MPs from both the national Assembly and the Senate are attending the closed door meeting.

President Uhuru Kenyatta who had earlier been expected to attend the meeting did not show up

The PG meeting comes at a time when the party is embroiled in a leadership tussle with a section of members demanding party elections

The issue could crop up during the meeting.

Kajiado West MP Moses Ole Sakuda and his Kieni counterpart Kanini Kega have been leading a group of MPs demanding for the elections to end the leadership row.

But speaking to Citizen TV today, Sakuda denied reports of a rift in the party only saying they want to strengthen TNA.

It is expected that the meeting will further review TNA’s future strategy and plan on its activities.

Over the weekend, a retreat organised by the party leadership in Naivasha agreed to start a recruitment exercise
