The much-anticipated Sagana III meeting convened by President Uhuru Kenyatta at the Sagana State Lodge in Nyeri County appears to live up to its billing that there will be no holds barred as the Head of State seeks to meltdown the perceived political rebellion he faces in Mt. Kenya.

President Kenyatta arrived at the State Lodge at around midday to a rousing welcome punctuated with song and dance from thousands of supporters from across the Mt. Kenya region who began arriving at the venue in droves early Wednesday morning.

The event kicked off with Health CS Mutahi Kagwe inviting Kenyatta to greet the thousands of attendants as he declared that the Head of State was the man of the day.

A visibly vibrant and energetic Kenyatta heartily greeted the crowd as he expressed amusement at the huge turnout.

"I had counted the few who were invited but when I was told more people came, I said it's ok. Allow them in. Hata hii State lodge si ni yenu nyote? I thank you all for coming. I know you've come from Nairobi, Kiambu, Kirinyaga, Embu, Nyeri, Nyandarua, Eldoret, Laikipia, Meru, Embu, Tharaka Nithi na kwingineko," said Kenyatta.

The President went on to declare that he has been silently following what was being said about his administration including talk that the Jubilee Party was on its death bed.

Some people have been saying Jubilee died. I don't know what they mean. I'll ask someone here to come and demonstrate what Jubilee as a party we have been doing. I want the entire nation to see where Jubilee has been and what it has been doing,” he said.

In what appeared as his first shot fired at his deputy William Ruto and his allies, President Kenyatta said some people had been moving around telling lies about the government, adding that the truth would soon prevail.

“I told you time for politics will come, but before then let us first focus on service delivery. They come here, dance for you and tell you how they love you. We shall know…. I don’t want to talk ill about anyone but all I want is the truth, justice and fairness,” said Kenyatta.

He declared that the event was his meeting and that he would not allow other political leaders present to take over the forum to push their personal agenda.

President Kenyatta then invited the Head of the President's Delivery Unit Andrew Wakahiu to outline some of the Jubilee government achievements before making a further address.
