Tragedy as teacher couple electrocuted in Sega Town

The victims, identified as Meshack Ongulo and his wife Modesta Mwakali, both teachers in the area, are believed to have come into contact with a live electrical cable near their bathroom.

According to North Ugenya Location Chief George Francis Osoro, Modesta had entered the bathroom when she was suddenly electrocuted.

Her husband, who was brushing his teeth nearby, reportedly rushed to her aid but was also fatally struck.

Neighbors who responded to the screams found the couple lifeless inside the compound. Police later moved the bodies to a private morgue in Sega town.

Chief Osoro, while addressing the incident, urged calm among residents and called on landlords and property owners to take electrical safety more seriously.

He emphasized the need for proper installation and maintenance of wiring to prevent similar tragedies.
