Transport was paralysed and businesses closed on Monday morning after Azimio supporters staged protests in the streets of Migori.

The protesters who were carrying placards and rungus barricaded roads with stones and demanded for the opening of IEBC servers.

They could also be heard complaining about the high cost of living, and asked Kenyan government to first deal with the price of essential goods.

At the time of publishing, police officers had started arriving in the area where the protests were taking place, trying to remove the stones that rendered roads impassable.

The protests follow a similar one in Kisumu on Friday, where pro-Azimio protesters walked towards the State Lodge.

The actions are in response to an order from Azimio leader Raila Odinga, who last week gave an ultimatum to the government to reduce the cost of living, failure to which there will be a mass action.
