The Political Parties Dispute Tribunal has nullified Kisii Jubilee Gubernatorial nominations and two constituencies.

The tribunal directed Jubilee Party to conduct fresh primaries within 48 hours.

The Kyalo Mbobu-led Tribunal further nullified the nomination of former Foreign Affairs Minister, Chris Obure, who had won the nominations.

The nominations will be conducted for the third time following a similar repeat on May 12.

“The nominations were not free and fair, the aspirants and the party shall agree on the rules to be used in the repeat primaries,” ruled the Tribunal.

The two constituencies that the nominations will be repeated are Kitutu Chache North and Bonchari.

The petition was filed by governor aspirant, Alfred Nyangweso, former chief Mary Ratemo (Bonchari), Ndemo Ong’era and Joseph Bogonko, both of Kitutu Chache North, and Kennedy Nyamweya (Bomachoge Chache).

The petitioners had argued that Jubilee Party breached the Tribunal’s previous directive to hold repeat nominations in the county.
