The Central Organization Trade Unions (COTU) Secretary General Francis Atwoli now wants Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Matiang’i to order the arrest of Deputy President William Ruto over his continued onslaught against the government and State officers.

This after a section of Kenya Kwanza leaders have in the recent past decried the alleged heavy deployment of police officers to some parts of the Rift Valley region, claiming the move will only serve to upset peace in the region.

Speaking during an Azimio la Umoja One Kenya campaign rally in Kisii on Tuesday, Atwoli said such remarks by DP Ruto and his team were getting out of hand and the government will soon be forced to take action against him.

He castigated the DP saying his utterances were intimidating police officers, and that his complaints against the deployment of the servicemen and women to Rift Valley were out of line.

At the same time, Atwoli promised that if Azimio presidential candidate Raila Odinga manages to win the August polls, then the police welfare would be improved.

Wangapi wanasema awekwe ndani?”

Let him respect the police, the police cannot issue papers to say other tribes to vacate a certain area.”
