Two children die as medics’ strike enters third day
Two children have died at the Rift Valley General Hospital in Nakuru since the health workers’ strike began on Monday.
Addressing journalists at the county headquarters last evening, Deputy Governor Joseph Ruto refuted claims that six children had died, adding that the two died of natural death.
He added that day-long talks with the representatives of health care workers union had hit a snag and the matter has now been referred to the labour department.
The county health workers’ strike, that enters its third day today, has also paralysed operations at Molo, Gilgil, Olenguruione and Naivasha Hospitals forcing relatives to transfer patients to private hospitals.
