Two dead in a road accident involving a bus and truck

According to Lydia Mambo, Samburu region police commander, the incident occurred when a Mash Company bus traveling from Nairobi and a Mercedes Benz trailer truck headed in the opposite direction collided on Sunday in Kwale County. 

It is reported that one person succumbed to injuries at the scene, while the other, passed away as they were being taken to the hospital.

Others who sustained injuries are currently receiving medical attention at various hospitals in the area, including Mariakani Hospital.

The police commander urged drivers to exercise caution on the roads, especially during the Christmas holiday season.

According to the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA), 4,139 people have been killed in road accidents between January 1 and December 20, 2023.
