Two families cry for help after 4 sons disappear mysteriously in Nakuru

Two families in Nakuru County are living in uncertainty following the mysterious disappearance of 4 brothers in separate incidents over the last two weeks.

The distraught families say they have tried all means to locate their loved ones but their efforts to find them have yielded no progress.

Moses Kamau, a land broker in Nakuru town, and his brother Joseph Ngugi, a teacher at Kijabe Girls High School, aged 39 and 37 respectively mysteriously disappeared on Monday September 21, 2020 after the two met.

Their phones were switched off the same day in unclear circumstances; and now two weeks since their disappearance the family is at a loss back at their home in Kwa Amos at Bahati, Nakuru County, with the pain evident on their faces.

“Bibi mdogo alimpigia wakasema wako hoteli watatu lakini simu kuzima zilizimia Golf club…bibi alipiga mara tatu hakushika akapiga 2pm ikawa mteja akadhani ni kawaida….CID wanasema zilizima wakati mmoja na zinaachana na dakika kumi,” said Grace Kiruri, aunt to Moses and Joseph.

The identity of the third person who was with the brothers at the time of  their disappearance is still unknown to the family, a puzzle that has taken weeks to solve as their hopes slowly fade away.

“Tumekuwa tukifuatilia, hatukuwa tunadhani ni serious, tulidhani kuzima simu mara moja siku ya pili ndio tukajua ni serious,” said Samuel Ng’ang’a, a family member.

In Kahiga Centre, Subukia, David Mathenge’s family is also distraught and with multiple questions after two of their children disappeared on Tuesday September 28, 2020.

Mathenge claims the brothers, Zakayo Kamau and Ian Kamau, aged 12 and 8 respectively are always together and never leave home unless it is unnecessary. They reported the matter to 4 different police stations in Nakuru.

The two families are going through psychological trauma that is hard to express, but while their loved ones are missing, their hopes remain they will reunite in the days to come.
