Two injured after aircraft crashes in Ngong

Two people were injured on Monday morning after a light aircraft crash-landed at Kibiku Forest in Ngong, Kajiado County.

The two, a pilot, Mr Tony Karanja, and his trainee, Mr Ian Lemaiyan, were flying over the forest when the aircraft developed mechanical problems in the air, leading them to crash-land in a ditch.

Confirming the incident, area DCIO Richard Bittok said police arrived at the scene and cordoned off the area as they waited for experts to analyse the situation.

The two were airlifted by an Amref chopper to hospital for treatment.

The aircraft, a Cessna 152 belonging to 99 Flying School is used for training purposes and had taken off from the Wilson Airport shortly before the accident.
