Two Kenya Power employees have
been arrested for soliciting a Ksh.50,000 bribe in order to restore power
supply, which they had previously disconnected, at a home in Kawangware.
Lawrence Njogu and Patrick Onsare were apprehended on Wednesday by detectives from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) after the complainant reported the matter to the anti-graft watchdog.
They were nabbed immediately after receiving the said sum from the complainant.
"EACC verified the claims and conducted an operation leading to the arrest of the suspects while receiving the demanded amount," said the anti-graft body.
The suspects were held at Kilimani Police Station and were today (Thursday) returned to EACC Integrity Centre Police Station where they are currently being processed.
