Two killed in Kirinyaga accident

Two people died and another one was injured in a road accident at Kirwarwa area on the Mwea-Embu road in Kirinyaga County.

It is reported that the trio were, on Wednesday night, driving from Makutano Trading Centre to Kirwarwa, when another car hit them, killing two of them on the spot.

According to police and relatives, one of the deceased was a Form Three student at Good Samaritan Secondary School and the injured was a pupil at Kirwara Primary School.

Angry residents barricaded the busy Mwea-Embu road from 9pm to 4am, protesting over the rising number of road accidents in the area.

In February, four people from the same family died on the same spot.
