Two suspects arrested with 16 elephant tusks in Nakuru
Police on Thursday arrested two suspects found transporting 16 elephant tusks in Nakuru.
Confirming the incident, Nakuru County Police Commander Stephen Matu said the suspects — a father and his son — were arrested following a tip off from members of the public.
The two were intercepted in a Toyota Fielder on transit from Eldoret. They are set to be presented in court on Friday.
The arrest follows an intensified crackdown on poachers in the country with several accused persons being handed jail sentences and hefty fines in the recent past.
