Officers from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) have arrested two men for allegedly impersonating Immigration officials at Nyayo House and attempting to defraud a Norwegian national of Ksh.370,000.

The suspects; Patrick Kizengwa Kilaya and Billy Kidula Adingo, were nabbed on Thursday for reportedly extorting money from the public purporting to have the capacity to issue passports and work permits within a short period.

According to the EACC, the duo was arrested after the victim, instead of giving the bribe, opted to report the matter to the commission.

“They claimed that they were in a position to assist him to secure a Kenyan work permit and other Immigration documents, within minutes,” a source at EACC said.

The commission has since launched a probe into similar cases of Immigration workers colluding with impostors to irregularly issue government documents.
