Two watchmen arrested over theft of primary school laptops

Two watchmen in Nyatike, Migori County are in police custody following theft of five digital literacy programme laptops at Kosiemo Primary School.

The two manning the school were arrested on Wednesday morning to help with investigations into the Tuesday night robbery.

During the incident, a 25-inch television and a number of text books from the school were also reported missing.

Misiwi location Chief Julius Gogo confirmed the incident saying unknown people broke into the school’s administration block after cutting window grills before disappearing with the valuables.

Mr. Gogo said his office is collaborating with local police to trail suspects linked to the robbery.

The area chief appealed to the school managements in the area to put in place proper security measures, noting that cases of theft of the primary school gadgets was alarming.
