Two women arrested after conducting FGM on four girls
- One of the two women is the mother of the 3 girls and an aunt to the fourth girl, while the other was the one who cut the girls’ genitals.
Two women have been arrested for conducting Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) on four girls at Sechelezi, Isiolo County on Saturday.
One of the two women is the mother of the 3 girls and an aunt to the fourth girl, while the other was the one who cut the girls’ genitals.
While confirming the incident, Isiolo
county police commander Hassan Barua, said that they got a tip off from a
villager and when police officers visited the home they arrested the two.
The four survivors were taken to Isiolo level
four hospital for treatment.
"We are holding the two waiting to
arraign them on Monday for subjecting the girls to genital mutilation,"
Barua Said.
Barua warned that those who are conducting FGM
will face the law.
