In a statement on Thursday addressed to UDA Secretary General Veronica Maina, the stadiums have already been booked and scheduled for use on August 5-7.
"We regret to inform you that due to peace concerts scheduled to take place at both Moi International Sports Centre-Kasarani and Nyayo National Stadium between 5th to 7th, the facility will not be available for your use," read the statement signed by Pius Metto, the Sports Kenya Director General.
However, the Raila Odinga-led Azimio la Umoja One Kenya coalition party on Tuesday, announced that they will be holding a final campaign "mega rally" at the Nyayo Stadium on August 6, the same day UDA was seeking to use the premise.
“The Azimio campaign team, led by #babanamartha, will hold its last official campaign meeting in Nairobi on 6th August 2022 at Nyayo Stadium. #ilnawezekana!” read a statement from the coalition party Secretary General Junet Mohamed.
