UDA Party's Dekow Mohamed wins Garissa Township Constituency by-election

United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party candidate Dekow Mohamed is the winner of the Garissa Township Constituency by-election held on Thursday.

Mr. Dekow, who is the brother-in-law to former Garissa Township MP Aden Duale, emerged winner after garnering 11,572 votes.

The United Democratic Movement (UDM) candidate Nasir Mohamed came in second after securing 8,158 votes.

The by-election in Garissa Township was occasioned by the appointment of Aden Duale to President William Ruto's Cabinet to serve as Cabinet Secretary for Defence.
