Uganda: 4 students suspended for sexually assaulting colleague

Police in Uganda are investigating circumstances under which a 15-year-old boy was sexually assaulted by a group of four students.

Authorities say the group attacked the student of Jinja College and tied him to a bed last week Wednesday before assaulting him with a stick.

“The victim fell unconscious but was recovered late and rushed to Nile International Hospital, where the stick was removed,” the Ugandan police spokesperson Enanga Fred said in a report on Monday.

The victim had reported the four students for involvement in acts of sodomy, which led to their suspension.

Jinja College is a catholic boys boarding school located two kilometres north of the eastern city of Jinja.
