Former President Uhuru Kenyatta was among several high-profile guests who, on December 27, attended the wedding of former Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i's daughter.

The former head of State joined the likes of Nyamira Governor Amos Nyaribo and veteran politician Sam Ongeri to witness the nuptials of Wendy Matiang'i and Franklin, at a ceremony which was went down at a private location in Nairobi.

In his remarks, Kenyatta wished the newlyweds well while noting, “Marriage is a wonderful journey that needs love, trust, and respect from both partners."

He added, "Wendy and Frankline, as you begin this new part of your lives, I hope your home is full of peace and joy, and may your relationship be an example for others.”

The former President also reflected on the significance of family in strengthening societal bonds, adding, “Today’s celebration reminds us of the importance of togetherness and the values that bind us as a community.”

Other notable attendees included Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, Jeremiah Kioni, former ICT Cabinet Secretary Joe Mucheru and former Interior PS Dr. Karanja Kibicho, among others.

The event also included colorful performances that highlighted the couple’s journey together. 

"It wasn’t just a celebration of love but also of the strong connections that bring families, communities, and the country closer," the family noted.
