Unidentified mans body found dumped by roadside in Muranga

Shock and anxiety gripped Kongoini village in Kiharu, Murang’a County, early Sunday after residents woke up to the body of an unidentified man dumped by the roadside.

According to Mukuyu area chief Adams Kariuki, the unidentified body was unclothed, save for his undergarments and one shoe.

Mukuyu said the body appeared to have been dumped in the area from elsewhere.

"I was called early Sunday morning some minutes to 7am, where I was told about a body that had been discovered dumped by the road," Chief Kariuki told Citizen Digital.

"He was naked save for his underwear and one shoe, we suspect he was dumped from elsewhere as he is not recognisable as a person from this region."

According to Simon Njoroge, a resident of Kongoini who reported the discovery to the area chief, he discovered the body at around 6.20am on his way to a neighboring shopping center.

'I saw what looked like a body in a ditch on the side of the road, I then saw another man who was walking nearby and he confirmed that it was a body,” Njoroge said.

Residents who live near the spot where the body was discovered said they heard a vehicle roaming around in the wee hours of Sunday morning.
