United Millers employee charged with conspiracy to defraud
Henry Musyoka Kavita, an employee of United Millers, was on Tuesday arraigned in court and charged with conspiracy to defraud.
Kavita was charged alongside two directors of the said company – Sunil Narshi Shah and Kamal Narshi Shah – who however did not appear in court.
The court heard that the accused persons on April 2, 2015 jointly conspired to defraud B.N Kotecha and Sons Limited Ksh.79 million shillings by pretending that they had lost business as United Millers Ltd to their clients by failing to supply sugar.
Kavita was also charged with four other counts of forgery, in which he was alleged to have forged a local purchase order.
He was granted a cash bail of Ksh.1 million.
The two directors who did not show up were directed to appear in court next week on Tuesday for the purposes of plea taking. This was after the court was informed that they are presently in isolation.
